Follow these Night Time Skin Care Routine for an enhanced skin texture

How you prep your skin before hitting the bed each night determines how it’s going to look the next day. Over time, the best night time skin care routine can not only enhance your skin texture, but make you look years younger too. Here’s a step-by-step guide that you ought to follow in order to wake up with nourished, youthful skin every day.

Step 1: Cleanse

Rid your face of all makeup, dirt and grime accumulated through the day with a mild cleanser that contains either salicylic or glycolic acid. This will not only prevent sudden acne breakouts (especially in case of oily skin), but cleanse even the deepest of pores.

Step 2: Tone

A toner is a must for closing your pores after a cleansing session. However, steer clear of harsh toners that have a tendency of drying or irritating your skin further. Opt for a toner that’s specifically made for your skin type.

Step 3: Moisturise

Whatever natural oils on your skin that you lose during cleansing, moisturising helps replenish them. Massage your face and neck thoroughly so that the moisturiser reaches the deeper layers of skin, thus, keeping it hydrated throughout the time you’re sleeping. Make sure to pay special attention to the delicate area around eyes as it needs special care.

Also include the following quick hacks:

- Switch to satin/silk pillow cases. If you have a habit of moving too much while sleeping, these pillow cases won’t pull on your skin.

- Get at least 6-8 hours of sleep. Lack of sleep clearly shows around your eyes in the form of dark circles, and results in a dull skin texture the next day.

- Remember to comb your hair with a wooden comb before hitting the bed. This will minimise tangling and reduce the formation of knots while you sleep.
